Exceptional athletic performance, healthful living, and weight loss depend on a proper diet. High-quality, whole foods provide the fuel our body needs for engine efficiency and proper function. The myriad of fad diets and food-eating strategies make proper nutrition very confusing. At Thrive HFM, we teach our clients about sensible diet and nutrition. We rely on the latest scientific data, rather than the latest best-selling diet book. We will show you how to eat to achieve ultimate health and fitness performance. We design your nutritional program with the following goals:
  • to prevent illness (i.e. heart disease, diabetes and cancer)
  • to increase energy and athletic performance
  • to maintain proper weight
  • to boost the body's immune function
Meal choices based on nutrient dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and essential fats are the most efficient for performance, weight loss and good health. In addition, one must avoid overly-refined carbohydrates and processed fats. We do not oppose carbohydrates, but we want our clients to eat the "right" carbohydrates. We will teach our clients about proper insulin control, the glycemic index and glycemic load. Our digestive systems cannot adapt to the additives, preservatives, colorings and flavorings that now dominate our food choices. The rates of heart attack, type II diabetes, obesity, stroke, hypertension, and gastrointestinal disorders continue to climb. However, appropriate food selection can greatly improve all of these conditions.

In addition to teaching our clients proper nutrition, we will help track and evaluate our clients' current diet. At Thrive HFM, you will receive a complete analysis of your eating habits as well as an evaluation of your daily caloric load. A comparison of your caloric intake to your caloric expenditure will help with weight management and sports training.
